WE ARE SO FRACKED

This is way wrong.

Two months ago I happened upon a pbs show featuring Josh Fox and his movie Gasland. My life changed. At first I was concerned with the Delaware River becoming polluted. Three generations of my family live in Lower Bucks County - the fourth has just arrived. This seemed a serious threat to us all.  Since that day I have relentlessly pursued all available information on gas drilling and its potential to harm our environment and our health.

I am convinced that my - OUR - state is doomed if the gas drilling is not stopped - NOW.

I am an 8th generation Pennsylvanian with an ancestor who fought as a lieutenant in Trenton and Princeton. For over 250 years the family has lived throughout the state and enjoyed everything it has had to offer - loyal citizens secure in the belief that we are protected by our elected officials.

NO MORE.

We have all been betrayed - sold out - by our officials at every level of government. Officials who have sworn an oath to uphold the constitution and have consistently broken that vow. The evidence is easily available, abundant and overwhelming - from township supervisors up to Gov Rendell - the biggest betrayer of all.

My efforts to inform others of this situation are usually met with disinterest and indifference. I find this both puzzling and shocking - some kind of denial?

I am going to devote as much time as possible to spread awareness of this coming disaster. In reaching out across the state and country I have found a growing number of very devoted, very alarmed, very angry and very good people who have been working long and hard to end this travesty. I have links to several of those on the right - please visit and learn and follow their links to other important sites.  I have also included links to some videos and tv shows of interest.

I have become sick at heart and furious. It seems everything I find is profoundly troubling. I hope this blog helps us. I encourage comments -
but, please:

Big dogs are also welcome.

  1. I am also from Pa. I am angry, saddened, and sickened at the whole issue. And to think it will take something so unbelievably huge to get people to understand. And then it will be too late. What a pity to have a stae with such wonderful history behind it destroyed. Where are the honest people anymore?! Great blog.

  2. Welcome to the fray. There is no resource more precious than clean water nor thing more critical than the health and well-being of our families. Thank you for adding your voice to the rising chorus.

  3. Thanks, fracked, for the new site.
I am reminded that we are all stewards of the land.
Most of our fellow human beings have lost their connection to the earth . . . they seldomly longer walk barefoot on it, they live elevated above it, they ride or fly above it, they do NOT have in their bodies that deep sense of oneness with their mothering planet.

    Their protective instincts have weakened.

As (wo)men move farther away from their ties to their own biological nature, they move farther away from sensing the danger to that nature.

It is far easier for those who would harm the planet to convince such people that the harm isn't really harm.
