WATER, WATER...ANYWHERE?

70% of the planet is covered by water
Only 0.008% of it is available
for human consumption

Each day, contaminated drinking water
kills 14,000 people
WORLDWIDE
that's
5,110,000 people per year

Each American uses an average of
100 gallons of water every day.
that's
36,500 gallons per year

Being green isn't new

Fracking one deep shale gas well
requires an average of
4,500,000 gallons of water.

THIS IS BEYOND MADNESS

  1. I'll say this again, since it continues to shout loudly to me: abusers, those who cause harm, try to hide their abuse with three primary mechanisms:
minimization (saying the harm less than it is)
denial, (saying they didn't do it)
and blame (saying something else caused harm).

All three mechanisms are forms of rationalization: the process of validating what they are doing --even when it is patently harmful-- through selective distortion of the truth, lying.

When I hear lies I know there is abuse.
The drillers are hiding behind minimizing the amounts of toxins, the amount of water used, the amount left in the ground, the numbers of times the wells will be fracked, the environmental risk and damage; denying there are toxins, denying past damage, denying risk, denying their contribution to damage; blaming the 'proprietary blend' sellers of the fluids, blaming environmental regulations, blaming critics and opponents. . . .

all to hide the abuse they are causing.

These minions of the corporate greed machine are abusing the earth, the air, the water, the plants and the animals.
Irrevocable abusive harm in the same way that once a baby has been shaken, it is brain-damaged for life. The abuse is permanent.

Abuse. . . a sane society does not tolerate abuse, seeks to stop it, seeks to mitigate its harm on all affected.
Instead, we are merely asking that they put the baby back into the crib after they've shaken it.

    We're not a sane society.
