I went walking in the wasted city
Started thinking about entropy
Smelled the wind from the ruined river
Went home to watch TV
And it's worse when I try to remember
When I think about then and now

This post really speaks to me.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me think of the difference between memories of Grandma vs. pictures of Grandma.
It makes me think of the difference between the Ohio Pyle on a map vs. Dad's voice telling stories of our deep roots there.
The Maxfield Parish luminosity of that wonderful image giving way to chemicals wicking into water and air forever… ruined.
Kids need to see, hear and feel the difference between a fish stream and a dead stream.
