PCN BROADCAST ON NATURAL GAS ISSUES

The Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN) will air the latest discussions on Marcellus Shale natural gas issues this week.

The statewide public affairs network will dedicate part of its evening schedule today through Thursday to air call-in segments, a town hall meeting and an “On the Issues” interview dealing with the hot topic.
Viewers can share their comments and questions concerning Marcellus Shale issues during the two special live call-ins just by dialing toll-free at 1-877-PA6-5001. Both programs will begin at 7 p.m. The confirmed topic and guests are as follows:


• Today: The Economic Impact of Marcellus Shale, with featured guests Matthew Brouillette, president of the Commonwealth Foundation; and Sharon Ward, executive director of the Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center.


• Wednesday: Marcellus Shale and the Environment, with featured guests Lou D’Amico, president and executive director of the Pennsylvania Independent Oil & Gas Association; and John Hanger, secretary of the state Department of Environmental Protection.
Following the call-in show on Wednesday at 8 p.m., PCN will air an “On the Issues” program featuring U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Scranton, as he talks about Marcellus Shale drilling safety.


• Thursday: PCN will host a Marcellus Shale town hall meeting at Washington & Jefferson College in Washington. Coverage of the event will air live beginning at 7 p.m. A panel consisting of academic, industry, government and state agency representatives will discuss the Marcellus Shale formation.
Brian Lockman, president/CEO of PCN, will moderate a panel including Myron Arnowitt, Pennsylvania state director of Clean Water Action; DEP Secretary Hanger; Matt Pitzarella, director of public affairs for Range Resources; David Yoxtheimer, extension associate for the Penn State Marcellus Initiative for Outreach and Resources; and Angela Zimmerlink, Fayette County commissioner.
