Don't know if you caught the Marcellus Shale forum held last week and televised on PCN.... Some real strong zealotry from County, Township, and borough commenters, from the likes of the Bradford Co commissioner whose name I do not want to know--- who sounded like a paid apologist for everything pure and sacred spelled "C-A-P-I-T-A-L-I-S-M," to the truly concerned citizenry who feel as if their lives are being eroded beneath them and who feel powerless to do anything to stop it.
Very sad.
The proponents have money on their side. Even to the peons money seems to confer some semblance of respectability. The idea that the money is connected to degradation of others is conveniently ignored.
The long-range effects were being discussed by those folks who are thinking past the money, but their fears are being banished as "unrealistic speculation" by the paid lackeys from PSU and the gas representatives.
The new discussions around improvements are for buried pipelines to replace the need for the trucks for water in/out to cover future frackings of extant wells ---- so it can all happen without being quite so visible an insult. Unseen, out of mind.
