Our most visible advocate speaks out
from the University at Albany last night:
"You don't put everyone else in jeopardy
just because it's going to bring jobs,
it just doesn't have very much foresight to it,"
said actor and anti-fracking
activist Mark Ruffalo.
This was in response to yesterday's radio interview
with governor-elect Andrew Cuomo.
"If it were safe, if the watersheds were protected,
and if it could create jobs, great," said Cuomo
"He's saying he won't drill in places
where there's watersheds.
But, I hate to tell you, Andrew Cuomo,
the whole state is a watershed,
Why is one person's watershed
more important than
another person's watershed?
He's got a serious issue."

More from Mark:
"We don't want a bunch of cowboys coming in here drilling holes everywhere they think
an opportunity sees fit."
"Our country right now is being run
by big gas and big oil," Ruffalo insists,
"We see what happens. They're getting
more and more desperate right now to take
more energy out of the ground and they're
taking riskier and riskier practices to do it."

you don't bring your daughter
